Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Audio app ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you understand how your data is handled.
1. Information We Collect
The Audio app collects the following types of information:
- Audio Recordings: Short audio clips you voluntarily capture using the App
- Audio Metadata: Duration, timestamp, estimated loudness (peak and average dB)
- Listening Context: Environment type, reported listening issues, and optional notes you provide
- Device Information: Local database identifiers (no personal device identifiers collected)
2. How We Store Your Data
Local-First Storage: By default, all your recordings and data are stored locally on your device using SQLite. We do not have access to this data.
Optional Cloud Sync: You may optionally configure Firebase synchronization. When enabled, your data is stored in your own Firebase project. We do not operate or control any cloud storage infrastructure.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Display your audio history and listening log within the App
- Enable export of your data (CSV format) for your own use
- Support optional synchronization to your configured Firebase project
We do not:
- Sell, rent, or share your data with third parties
- Use your data for advertising or marketing purposes
- Access your recordings or metadata stored locally on your device
- Collect analytics or usage data without your knowledge
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
You control how your data is shared:
- Export: You can export your data as CSV at any time
- Sharing: You can share individual recordings through your device's native sharing features
- Firebase Sync: Only occurs if you explicitly configure and enable it
We do not share your data with any third parties except as required by law.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Retention: Your data is retained on your device until you choose to delete it. We do not impose time limits on local storage.
Deletion: You can delete individual recordings or all data at any time through the App. Deleting a recording removes the audio file and associated metadata from your device (and from Firebase if sync is enabled).
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all your data stored in the App
- Export your data in CSV format
- Delete any or all of your data
- Disable or enable Firebase synchronization at any time
7. Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We recommend enabling device-level encryption and keeping your device's operating system up to date.
8. Children's Privacy
The Audio app is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with information, please contact us.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
