By downloading, installing, or using the Audio app ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Audio is a cross-platform application for recording, monitoring, and analyzing environmental audio. The App allows users to capture short audio clips, track loudness metrics, and maintain a log of listening environments to share with audiologists or hearing care professionals.

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the App in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Obtain necessary consent from individuals before recording audio that includes their conversations
• Not use the App for any illegal, harmful, or unauthorized purposes
• Respect the privacy rights of others when recording in public or private spaces
• Take reasonable measures to secure any data you choose to sync to cloud services

4. Data and Privacy

Audio recordings and associated metadata are primarily stored locally on your device. Optional Firebase synchronization is available but disabled by default. Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information about how we handle your data.

5. Medical Disclaimer

The Audio app is not a medical device. Loudness measurements provided by the App are estimates based on microphone input and are not calibrated sound pressure level readings. Always consult with qualified audiologists or healthcare professionals for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the App. This includes but is not limited to damages for loss of data, profits, or goodwill.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
